The Best Fun Stress Reliever – Color!

fun stress swear color book

I’m sure by now we all know or have heard how coloring is this tremendous stress reducer. Brings us back to our “fun, carefree childhood,” right? So in your mind, imagine being stressed to the point of madness. You don’t want to pick up that stupid coloring book. You’re pitching a temper tantrum in your mind and refusing to do anything to help yourself. Then out of nowhere, you remember you have this coloring book. It’s magic. It contains swear words, and while you color, you can read those words out loud. You can even say them over and over while you color. And guess what. Before you realize it, the madness is gone. And sanity has once again come into your brain. Go figure, right?

Stress doesn’t always mean irritability or anger. Sometimes it means a lack of motivation or just down. For those moments, grab this color book. The repetition in the design relaxes the mind on a subconscious level. This coloring book, Barefoot and Doodles, in particular, is unique in that it is entirely hand-drawn, pen to paper—no digitalizing beyond a high-resolution scan. So use the pages for fun stress relievers to let the “zen” take you away to the land of purple elephants and lollipop flowers.

Or, Maybe fun Daily Affirmations

fun stress affirmation

Are you one that enjoys a desk calendar that you need to peel each day to see the next? I like to save those days that have an impactful message and look at them again. It’s nice to be able to look back at a particular quote to remind me, I Can Do It.”

I couldn’t help sharing this one. As a die-hard Stones fan, this man has always fascinated me. He looks like death itself but has still managed to survive, and in that survival is his beauty for me. To quote from the description of this book, “What Would Keith Richards Do reminds us to learn from our mistakes, let our instincts lead us, and above all, do what Keith has done better than anyone–survive.” That in and of itself is powerful. Don’t get me wrong; his humor also shines through as a reminder to not take life so seriously all the time.

What I liked about this Affirmation set is that it is a deck of cards! Just think of it, you could wake up, take your cup of coffee, shuffle the cards, and pick one randomly. To me, this makes the daily affirmation personal, as opposed to one in a book that has everyone reading the same validation on the same day. It doesn’t matter; it just seems to make my daily affirmation a bit more unique for the day.

Mindfulness; A Powerful Stress Preventer!

stress prevention

For those who do not know or do not practice this powerful stress preventer, this beginner’s book may be the best place to start. Mindfulness is more than meditation; for me, it is a state of mind that allows me to stay in the present. As a result of this mindset, past events no longer have the power to influence my reactions today.

mindfulness

Have you ever wanted to include nature in your stress relief? Many of us do by walking, going barefoot, sitting by the ocean, or a river. Did you know this is a part of practicing mindfulness? This book offers an introduction to mindfulness by drawing on the elements of nature. As a result, I tend to believe that having a practical application from the beginning in tune with nature is a powerful way to learn.

I hope you found this page helpful in finding ways to cope in today’s world. Because it’s a crazy time, I know, and one in which we need to be helping each other.
